Street food is quick and inexpensive food that tells something about the food culture and culinary history of the place it comes from. This is a versatile option for those who love food and cooking.
On this course, we will combine cooking techniques and theory surrounding the concept of Street food. Throughout the year, we will spend a lot of time in the kitchen, covering several different themes.
Cooking techniques Cuisine from multiple continents Utilization of seasonal ingredients Baking Cooking from scratch Economics Vegetarian cuisine Visits to food businesses.
The course is built upon a foundation of unprocessed, locally sourced, and organic ingredients, which are an extension of the values that the kitchen at Sund is already known for. For us, organic thinking revolves around caring for the planet.
Throughout a year in the Street Food program, students will have the opportunity to prepare and enjoy cuisine from various continents. We'll make Mexican tacos, Japanese ramen, Peruvian ceviche, and steamed buns, to name a few.
Study trip by train and bus in Europe to Marrakech.
In addition to shorter trips around Norway, we embark on a longer study tour throughout Europe, indulging in street markets, food trucks, and local pubs. With a focus on climate and the environment, we primarily travel by train and bus. This provides us with a fantastic journey filled with delightful culinary experiences, stunning scenery, and cultural encounter.
For example, we'll visit places such as: Milan, Barcelona and Berlin. The highlight of the study trip will be "Jemaa El Fna in Marrakech", which is an absolute "Street food- paradise"!
