This is a newly established program for those who are passionate about providing enriching cultural experiences to the community around them, and who are interested in leading such efforts.
After completing the "Cultural Production" program, you will be able to lead and coordinate processes for organizing concerts, festivals, exhibitions, events, theater, and much more. In short, you'll gain the skills needed to make cultural life "happen" in a meaningful and sustainable way. The methodology of the program is highly practical, allowing you to practice taking responsibility for both small and large events and to connect with people who have the expertise and experience.
You will be guided by the school's skilled teachers, participate in the practical execution of several festivals, and meet external actors from various parts of the field.
The teaching is primarily practical and dialogue-based. Throughout the school year, you will also work closely on the preparation and execution of the renowned Soddjazz Festival, as well as the Hilmar Festival. There will also be excursions and study trips to other festivals both in Norway and abroad. The school year will conclude with the class organizing its own Sund Festival, where former and current students participate with music, exhibitions, and workshops
Throughout the school year, you will become part of the larger community at Sund Folk High School. In addition to the specific program instruction, you will also participate in communal and group lessons on major topics such as democracy and citizenship, environment and sustainability, life skills, and much more.
