We aim to educate fearless photographers in technical, conceptual, and aesthetic aspects.
The year begins with instruction in camera techniques, composition, photo editing, and lighting comprehension—everything you need to express yourself through a camera! We then delve into the genre of art photography, exploring the various approaches to the field. The days are characterized by great freedom, and you are encouraged to work across disciplines, such as drawing, illustration, collage, video, etc. We venture out on location, visit galleries and institutions, and showcase our work through exhibitions. Classroom discussions are used as a method to develop you as a photographer in a supportive class environment.
Through introductions to photographers and various approaches to the craft, you will develop a personal photographic language. You'll learn to recognize and reproduce artistic expressions. We have a darkroom, a well-equipped studio, and beautiful surroundings that you can use in your work. We can take on client assignments, and exhibiting our work is part of the curriculum. Opportunities for practical experience during the school year are available so you can test your skills outside of Sund. You have a significant influence on the schedule and play a key role in shaping your own school year.
