Do you want to grow your own channel, start your own business, or simply persue a exciting hobby - Danvik is the place for you!

If you want to do well on YouTube, you have to work both hard and smart - Danvik will create the perfect framework for you and your channel!

At the start of the school year, we emphasize on being an entrepreneur and creating your own business.
We analyze the market and look at what opportunities you have to develop your channel.
Based on this, the school will come up with a plan tailored to you and your brand, and in discussions with an external supervisor, we will prepare a plan for the whole year.

You will learn to create content aimed at a specific target group. You learn to film, edit and develop in a creative direction. You will also learn how to market yourself and your channel. These are useful skills to take with you further in your content-creating life.

Experience in running a YouTube channel makes you great candidate for many media companies.
Many of Danvik's partner companies want YouTube expertise.
Danvik is barely able to supply enough interns for the second-year scheme with internships who have precisely this competence - maybe you are the next talent destined for the industry?

If you already have your own YouTube channel, you will get time to work on further developing it, in parallel with working on the class or group's own channel.

YouTube & Entrepreneurship has some classes together with the Photo and Video class.

Hvert år reiser vi fem dager til Paris for å delta på Paris Photo, Europas største fotomesse hvor 136 gallerier, fotobokforlag og utstillere fra hele verden samles.
I tillegg til workshops og en fantastisk fotobokavdeling. Dette er en unik mulighet til å hente inspirasjon og fordype seg i faget!

Paris er fotohistoriens vugge, og på denne turen er det ikke uvanlig at minnekortene fylles opp av flotte bilder - her tar vi inn inntrykkene fra det som en gang i tiden var bohemenes boltreplass!

Vi besøker Victor Hugo, og skriver kanskje et dikt i Luxembourghagen. Vi besøker gallerier og museer og lar oss inspirere av Louvre, Maison De Hugo, Notre Damme, Latinerkvarteret, Paris Photo, Sacre Ceur, Eiffeltårnet, Monte Parnasse og avslutter reisen med en fellesmiddag i Montemarte.

En fantastisk kulturopplevelse i en av Europas vakreste byer!

Hollywood

Mot slutten av skoleåret reiser vi til USA - nærmere bestemt Hollywood i Los Angeles!

Dette er skolens største tur, og tradisjonelt er nesten alle elevene med. I filmhovedstaden Los Angeles bor vi på et flott hotell med eget basseng og boblebad - med bare fem minutters gangavstand til «Walk of Fame».

Privilegerte som vi er, får vi se sider av Hollywood andre bare kan drømme om. Mange «uoppnåelige» personligheter fra ulike bransjer i Hollywood stiller opp for Danvik fordi de synes det er gøy og inspirerende å møte så mange dedikerte ungdommer.
På tidligere turer har vi blant annet møtt komponisten til Spiderman, Michael Jacksons lyddesigner, produsenten av American Idol og coachen til Beyoncé, Will Smith m.fl.

Hvert år legger vi også turen innom fornøyelsesparker som Warner Bros og Universal Studios, samt verdenskjente strender som Santa Monica og Venice Beach.
I tillegg blir det muligheter for andre frivillige utflukter til steder som Joshua Tree National Park, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Citadel Outlets Shopping, Disneyland og mye mer!

India

Danvik har hvert år et solidaritetsprosjekt der elevene samler inn midler til en yrkesskole i India - Lahanti Institute of Multiple Skills (LIMS).
Vi ønsker å bidra til at unge minoritetsungdommer skal få en god, yrkesrettet utdanning innen blant annet media.

Gjennom innsamling av støttemidler bidrar Danvikelevene til at jevnaldrende med betydelig færre muligheter enn oss, får muligheter til skolegang.
På høsten får Danvikelever anledning til å være med på solidaritetstur for å besøke elevene og skolen vi støtter.
Vi byr på en spennende og variert tur, der utveksling av bransjeerfaring blir en del av opplegget.

Danvik samarbeider med Acta-Normisjon og den lokale organisasjonen ESAF om prosjektet og elevene får veiledning og oppfølging i forkant og underveis på reisen. Reisen til India gir verdifull internasjonal innsikt og erfaring!

Strand Leirsted

I løpet av en av de første skoleukene drar vi til Strand Leirsted i Sandefjord for å bli bedre kjent med hverandre!

På denne turen får du oppleve mange minner for livet - padling i kajakk, boblefotball mot lærerne, eller allsang rundt bålpanna.
Men best av alt - kanskje du treffer din nye bestevenn for første gang?

Det blir rom for en rekke morsomme aktiviteter, god mat og dype samtaler.
Strand-turen er selve kick-starten på Danvikåret!

Danvik Folkehøgskole is an excellent example of how the Nordic folkehøgskole tradition helps young people get ready for the future.

In addition to promoting important life skills and Christian values, our Norwegian boarding school has built a solid reputation by giving students a foot inside the door of an increasingly competitive media industry.

The education at Danvik is divided between programme subjects, common subjects, elective subjects, workshops and practice.
Students will spend roughly half the year producing bigger projects like short movies, shows and documentaries for TV and radio, video games, plays, anthologies or photo exhibitions, all depending on which of the seven programmes they have chosen.

In the common subjects, they will encounter interdisciplinary themes like media ethics, history and advertising. As a bonus, students get the chance to learn from the best in the business on trips to Hollywood, Paris and Berlin. We also cooperate with a school in India.
