Start your journey within Radio and Podcasting at Danvik!

Your first step towards working with Radio and Podcast is at Danvik Folkehøgskole!
You get to create your own podcast which is published on Spotify, and you also get to try your hand on air through our own live radio - Kanal 1.

You get theoretical and practical training in modern radio journalism, program production and radio operation.
Alongside commercial radio knowledge, you learn how to produce radio documentaries and radio plays, as well as how to reach listeners with your own program concept through podcasts.

Danvik has its own radio channel and the students broadcast 14 hours a week.
The teaching consists of real tasks connected with daily broadcasts on Kanal 1.
Here you get a unique chance to take part in live broadcasts, produce features, make reports and be a presenter in prime time.
The channel has 100,000 potential listeners.

You get to try your hand as a producer, presenter, technician, editor, music manager and reporter. The goal is for you to become a journalistically and technically skilled media actor with knowledge and understanding of radio as a communication platform. We have our own professional radio studio, editing suites and up-to-date technical equipment that you can use.

Inspiration and guest speakers
We have many inspiring guest lecturers and have regular trips to Oslo to visit the biggest channels:
NRK, NRJ, Radio Metro, P4, Radio Norge - you can join the studio and greet the presenters.

Many presenters started their journey at Danvik - are you the next?

Danvik Folkehøgskole is an excellent example of how the Nordic folkehøgskole tradition helps young people get ready for the future.

In addition to promoting important life skills and Christian values, our Norwegian boarding school has built a solid reputation by giving students a foot inside the door of an increasingly competitive media industry.

The education at Danvik is divided between programme subjects, common subjects, elective subjects, workshops and practice.
Students will spend roughly half the year producing bigger projects like short movies, shows and documentaries for TV and radio, video games, plays, anthologies or photo exhibitions, all depending on which of the seven programmes they have chosen.

In the common subjects, they will encounter interdisciplinary themes like media ethics, history and advertising. As a bonus, students get the chance to learn from the best in the business on trips to Hollywood, Paris and Berlin. We also cooperate with a school in India.
