Do you like both music and video games? Do you want to collaborate with other creative people? Here you`ll learn to create music and sound effects for games created from scratch in our school.
You will work with everything from sound and music to computer games;
- Composition of music in various genres: 8-bit, orchestral, ambient, world music, etc.
- Music production, mixing & mastering
- Adaptive music
- Recording
- Music theory for game music
- Foley & sound design
- Music for animation films and trailers
During the year you will learn everything needed to create game music. We focus on the entire musical process, from idea to integration into the game engine. In the beginning, we focus on the basics of music production, music theory and adaptive music. With this knowledge, we work with 8-bit music, alone and then in groups. Later we focus on instrumentation and other genres such as orchestral, world music and ambient.
You will learn about location scoring, character scoring, stingers, and many other techniques to create a more exciting and engaging gameplay. You will also work with foley, sound design, animation films and trailers, recording in the school's studio and your own music and projects.
As a student at Game Music, you will receive a permanent license to the music program Ableton Live 12 (suite version). You will also work with FMOD (middleware for integration into the game engine) and MuseScore (notation program).
You do not need to have worked with music before, know music theory or play an instrument.
We focus on collaboration in small and large groups. We collaborate closely and often with students from Game Art and Game Design.
