The program for those who love board games, card games, role-playing games, creating their own board games, game history, and interacting with other boardgamers.

As the first Folk High School in Norway we plan to travel to the world's largest Board Game Convention in Germany, SPIEL!

The "Game On" program focuses primarily on board games. We learn many different board and card games. Some large, heavy strategy games, and many smaller but equally exciting games.

In the fall, we travel to the world's largest board game convention in Germany, SPIEL. It has been held in Essen since 1968. Here, you can see and try pilot projects and games that haven’t hit the stores yet. SPIEL is the place for fans and publishers! Maybe you’ll find inspiration for your own board game right here.

After testing various games, game mechanics, and genres, we create our own board games. We use 3D printers and online editing programs.
Throughout the year, we also explore role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, hold tournaments in Pokémon TCG and Magic: The Gathering, and challenge the Esports class to both analog and digital competitions.

We wrap up the year by presenting the board games we have created. Maybe your game will end up at SPIEL! 😊
