Welcome to our Basecamp at Harstad Folk High School! Here we are right in the heart of one of Northern Norway's most varied and impressive regions for exciting and challenging outdoor activities.

With us you can combine urban environment and great nature experiences at the same school.

The school is situated at the heart of a region with stunning landscapes and interesting culture and histroy. To the west you will find the fantastic Lofoten and Vesterålen with spectacular mountains for hiking and skiing and thousands of islands for kayak adventures. To the east you will find Ofoten with the ski resort in Narvik, and the large facility Riksgrensen in Sweden. To the north we have Dividalen National Park and Polar Park where you will have close experiences with Wolf, Lynx and our other large forest animals. We also have Senja, Norway's second largest island. A hidden gem with dramatic scenery, mountains, fishing and killer whale watching that takes your breath away.

And still, we are situated in the middle of a thriving town, which still offers trips both at sea and in the forest and mountain areas and bouncy alpine mountains. In winter you can go to the Sollifjellet Alpine Center 15 minutes drive from the school. On the outskirts of the city center lies the Folkeparken, with miles of groomed trails. We also have a fantastic archipelago, wich we explore kayaking.

Full moon skiing under the northern lights in a sparkling world of silver and blue. And when the night light arrives in the north, the light provides trips in full daylight in the evening and on to the night.

The school offers norwegian language classes, with an additional fee of 10 000,-
