Love animals? Get hands-on experience caring for, training, and working with animals—from huskies to reptiles, farm animals, and even zoo wildlife!

If your heart beats a little faster for animals, this is the place for you! Animal Care & Welfare is perfect for anyone who wants to learn more about animals and explore careers in animal care. Throughout the year, you'll get hands-on experience feeding, handling, and training a variety of animals.

 

Some highlights include:

- Working with tigers and orangutans at Kristiansand Zoo

- Dog sledding and training huskies

- Visiting farms for sheep herding, lambing, and shearing

- Hatching and raising your own chicks

- Taking care of rabbits, horses, and reptiles

- Exploring endangered species and climate impact on wildlife

- Learning why animals have such a positive effect on humans

- A study trip to Denmark

 

With expert guidance from an experienced animal keeper, you'll gain valuable insight into what it's like to work with animals. Our closest neighbors are Happy Huskies, home to over ten sled dogs, and we'll visit farms, kennels, and animal sanctuaries.

This year is all about hands-on learning, unforgettable experiences, and deepening your connection with animals. Don't wait too long - this program fills up fast!
