Master barista & Mocktails

Do you enjoy a bustling cafe life? Happy to have new taste impressions and want to explore this further? We take a deep dive into a world of flavors, senses and become masters of the barista art.

Stavanger has a developing coffee and urban environment, and this is the perfect starting point for dabbling in the world of coffee. In Norway, there are coffee bars with quality that excel on a global basis. We will go in depth and after the year you will have opportunities to make a career in the subject or get a job alongside your studies.

We will learn how to mix mocktails and work on the further development of our taste buds. We use our own edible garden to create and explore recipes. Bio residue from coffee grounds is used as fertilizer. We will also use this to make soap and scrub. During the year, you will also have the opportunity to brew your own beer.

We will turn and design our own coffee cup in our own ceramics workshop. We will also make other art with and in coffee. We make jewelry or paint and learn latte art.

We play with different methods of making coffee and do a deep dive into how we can make the best coffee. Taste, aroma and mouthfeel make up a total taste experience that we will learn to master.

What is specialty coffee and why is it important globally and locally? We learn about green and fair trade, rights and working conditions.

You will learn operation, service and we will run a pop-up coffee bar for fellow students or other events. We also learn to take care of and handle machines and other equipment. There will be an opportunity to apply for an internship for work experience.
