Be a "stipendiat" at Sjøholt Folkehøgskole. As a stipendiat you will be a mix of a student and a teacher. You will learn a lot about youth work, and develop your leadership skills.
Sjøholt Folkehøgskole is a school for young people aged 16 and over. This means that there is a greater difference in age between a student and a "stipendiat" here than there is at other folk high schools. As a stipendiat, you will be a cool role model and a fun friend, but you will also be a carer and conversational partner about both the small and big things in life.
As a stipendiat, you are kind of a mix of a student and a teacher. You will follow a class,, you will become part of the student group and make many good friends. At the same time, you will have a lot of contact with the staff and you will get your assignments at school. For instance, you will be asked to arrange weekend evening activities, and things like role-playing weddings, outdoor cinema and tournaments. The only limit to what you can do is your imagination!
On the leadership training course, you will get a teacher who will follow you up closely. This teacher will have his own lectures with the stipendiats. Here we will reflect on what has been, prepare for what lies ahead, and you will receive teaching about leadership, youth work and simple psychology. You will be well looked after, and learn a lot of exciting things!
Usually, we want those who are going to be a stipendiat with us to have attended a year at a folk high school, Bible school, or done something similar. But if you are 19 or over and want to try to be a stipendiat, all you have to do is apply.
The Christian folk high schools are built on Christian values. They are owned by, or associated with, Christian organizations or denominations. They encourage students with different interests and beliefs to apply.
