Do you want to learn about agriculture and self-sufficiency with a focus on sustainability and animal welfare? Come to beautiful Setesdal and join us in running a small farm in harmony with nature!
On the course teacher's ecological smallholding, we follow the rhythm of the seasons. We have a market garden with vegetables, dairy goats, free-range pigs, and bees. Here, you can learn to cultivate different crops, milk goats, make your own cheese, extract honey, and process good, local ingredients. Throughout the year, you will witness kid goats being born and outdoor pigs growing to slaughter weight. You can learn about beekeeping and design your own edible garden.
When the farm work is done, we like to go on excursions to experience wild nature, fish, gather berries & mushrooms, and learn about edible plants. Lifelong friendships are built as we explore our surroundings, from the cultural landscape to the high mountains, on foot or on skis.
We will visit other farmers and smallholders, both locally and abroad, to learn, form networks, and participate in courses.
This can be a year filled with exciting experiences and new friendships, in which we share stories and the joy of mastering new skills.. Alongside cherished memories, you will gather knowledge and skills to one day start your own small farm or market garden.
