The lights are set, and you have full control over your performance. The focus is on you and your co-actors. Action! Few things can match the feeling of creating and delivering something meaningful together with others.

In the film acting program, you’ll learn general acting techniques as well as acting specifically for the camera.

We practice improvisation, body control, voice work, concentration, and character development. The actor’s most important instrument is their body.

You’ll have multiple opportunities to try acting in various roles for both camera and stage. Throughout the year, we often host visits from professional actors and directors. However, the most important activity to truly excel is practice. At our folk high school, you’ll have plenty of chances to practice, together with others.

Key topics include:

•Acting techniques

•Character development

•Performance for stage, camera, and film production

•Voice work

•Improvisation

•Script analysis

•Audition training

We collaborate closely with the Film Production program on several film projects, giving you extensive hands-on experience both in pre-production and on set.

The school year concludes with a shared trip period for the entire school, offering a variety of exciting destinations. For actors, the world’s film capital, Hollywood, could be a great choice. However, you are free to choose from any of our exiting trips.

At our school, you select two specialized subjects, and this will be your primary subject.

Nordmøre Folkehøgskule is situated in Surnadal about 2 hours by bus from Trondheim. The school is owned and operated by an independent foundation called Nordmøre Folkehøgskulelag.
