At Hallingdal Folkehøgskole, in the midst of the width of Hardangervidda and the mountains of Jotunheimen, you'll find unique experiences right on your doorstep.
A year at Hallingdal Folkehøgskole contains so much more than the class you apply for. At our school, community is the most important thing. Living with people who may become your best friends for life. Playing in the gymnasium, read a good book in the library, sing in the school choir, participate in fun electives on both Friday and Monday. You can also be inspired by great speakers at our Saturday seminars, express yourself creatively through program evenings, cook together in our school kitchen, or relax after an active day in the school´s cozy common room. However you use your free time, Hallingdal´s community will be there!
Our students can choose one of the following main subjects:
- Balanse - Yoga, Ski and personal development
- Friluftsliv - Outdoor activities, climbing,skiing and camping
- Reiseliv - Traveling, interrail and culture
- Switch Park and pudder- Park skiing/sowboarding, powder skiing
- Dyrepass - Zookeeping at its finest
All students must also attend some classes of general subjects.
PS! We offer classes in "practical Norwegian" for foreigners as a part-time study during the first term; voluntary to participate and free of charge.
The liberal folk high schools are built on values that are not based on one particular belief. They encourage students with different interests and beliefs to apply.
