Molde is called the fjord city, the jazz city, the football city and the city of roses.  Molde offers a fantastic panorama with 222 mountain peaks, the Romsdal Museum, Kongebjørka, football in the best league in Norway and a Jazz festival with an atmosphere you just have to experience.

The magnificent nature invites activities for both young and old: everything from demanding hikes in the mountain, to relaxing fishing trips by the coast.  In recent years, the association "Friends of Moldemarka" has created beautiful hiking trails in the local area - to the delight of both the city's residents and tourists.  These are suitable for both exercisers and cyclists, and for those who just want to drink their afternoon coffee outside.

Molde city center is intimate and cosy.  Feel free to visit Plassen - the city's beautiful cultural center.  The library is also located here, as well as a pleasant cafe.  Feel free to enjoy your morning coffee here or at another of Molde's coffee bars.  A little west of the city center you have Aker Stadion and Scandic Seilet Hotel - also buildings that should be visited.  Molde's water park is the closest neighbour to Scandic Seilet Hotel.

If you move slightly up towards the forest, you can walk through Reknesparken.  From the music pavilion in the middle of the park, you have a fantastic view of the city.  From this park you can continue to Romsdalsmuseet.  This was established in 1912, and is one of the country's largest and most contentrich folk museums.

Just one kilometer west of the museum, we find Kongebjørka.  This is where King Håkon adn the Prince Olav hid when the Germans bombed Molde in 1940.  From the museum, we can follow the path that goes up to Varden.  This is a viewpoint 407 m.a.s.l., and it takes just under an hour to reach.  Here you can enjoy a fantastic view over the city of Molde and the 222 mountain peaks.

The Atlantic Road is a national tourist route and is referred to as the world's most beautiful road trip.  In 2005, it was voted to Norway's building of the century.  It is just under an hours drive from Molde in the direction of Kristiansund.

Molde Hostel is located to the west of the center of Molde - in the immediate vicinity of both Kongebjørka, Varden, Romsdalsmuseet, Scandic Seilet and Aker Stadium.  From the hostel it only takes 20 minutes to walk to the city centre.  The local bus passes the hostel 2 times every hour.

Below you will find links to some tourist attractions that are worth a visit:
